I found a HUGE bug in the ladder tutorial on this site that i found IN MY game.

Here is the problem. THE ONLY WAY THE LADDER WILL WORK IS IF YOU HAVE IT FACED EXACTLY 180 DEGREES. When you lick 180 on the "N" properties.

DO this to see what im talking about.

make a box add a player start and light then inside that box make a 4 sided box and give it the Func_ladder for ALL four sides and then give it the 180 thing in the N properties. Compile your map and play it. There you will find out that ONLY ONE FRIGGIN side works of the four sided ladder.

THat is what the stupid tutorial didnt tell us that the 180 degree only works if you face it to 180 DEGREES. After 3 hours of compiling my map I had the F****** ladders not work because they werent facing 180 degree.

So its not your problem that the ladder doesnt work.

I will do a little bit of research and tell you exactly what number to press on the "N" screen so all of your ladders would work.

but besides that you map look great. (Add some vehicles before you compile again.

Yarki it doesnt tell u that it must be 180 degrees the angle depends on what angle you've placed your ladder at the tutorial is fine I think the best way to figure out the angle is to drop an ai guy in front of it then change his angle so hes facing the ladder then make the ladder angle the same also try posting it as a new subject and not on the end of some1 elses

You got it all wrong. The func_ladder must set the angle which the player must be facing. For example,

|
|
| This is the side view of your ladder. So the func_ladder must be
| 180 degrees.
|
|

|___|
|___| This is the front view. So the func_ladder must be 90 degrees.
|___|
|___|
|___|

Sorry rox, but no. It is the direction that a plyer must face to climb a ladder counting counterclockwise from north. North in the 2D view is on the left.

Exactly that's what I mean too. Those so called "diagrams" are just to show where the player must be facing for the correct angle. Just figure it out by testing it yourself. :D

That may be misleading. In this example the angle is 55.

Ah hah! That's what I mean. But due to the lack of pics, ppl tend to misunderstand it. With clearer and better pics, it will be better.
