That's an interesting map. I started with a space map myself some time ago with spacecrafts, wanted to script a space battle (it was not for playing) but I never continued with it. If you like, you may have the background texture I made for it.

Nice work 8-)

East vs West.... in Outer space

Greetings again to my friends at .map.

I've created a new map with an outer space setting, that pits the east (Axis) against the west (Allies). It's FFA and Team DM. It's different. Thanks to jv_map and Tom Trude for the script and map samples, that showed me how to do the scripting; to PKM for ...

You have unzip the file to the plugins folder in radiant, it doesn't read PK3s.

Have you looked at your latest map file with notepad? You could have a bad entry preventing it from loading, or a conflict with another custom pk3.

That wouldn't matter to me. I wind up changing textures or creating new ones 4 - 5 times, on every terrain.

Thanks, Rookie One. I haven't played with EasyGen in a long time. Maybe I'll give it another try. I still have it on my old PC.

is gensurf the same as easygen ?

As I recall, Easygen creates a mesh based terrain that has a pretty high polygon count. I don't remember if it is compatabile with MOHAA mesh format. Gensurf creates pretty low poly count brush based terrain that works with any Q2 - Q3 based engine. It's not as ...

I've added a link to filefront in the original post.

Also, here's a filefront link to the Trolley map:

That file host sucks hairy donkey gonads, though. :?
Why so? Everytime I test DLs from there it seems to work decently. But, I'm open to suggestions.

Gensurf terrain tool and tutorial

I've created a tutorial, that includes the MOHAA version of GenSurf. You can get it here: http://www.badongo.com/file/1066314
and here: http://files.filefront.com/Gensurf_Tut01zip/;5260845;;/fileinfo.html

This tutorial shows you how to:

1. create the bitmap image

2. configure Gensurf

3. Build ...

Thanks. I guess I'll try and create a model then. After further consideration, I've decided the rafts should be large inverted mushroom tops, with a wooden (or mushroom stem) tripod to attach the rudder/oar. I already have large mushrooms in the map, so it seems only logical they would serve as ...

Object movement question for the experts.

I've looked closely at JV_map's airplane and vehicle scripts and Scorpio_midget's tank scripts. It looks like vehicle control with respect to direction of movement is basically replacing the player model with a vehicle (or airplane) model. The player movement controls then function to control the ...

i've been to Tombstone (last summer actually), so i can tell you, NICE JOB. i might have some pictures from around it still, but that looks pretty accurate to the time period and the textures are magnificent!

i might have to try this on Q4, if the engine doesnt die of the outdoors strain.

Thank ...

Re: Cod2

After deleting all the patch mesh and entities, there are 2457 brushes , and god knows how many faces, to retexture. Where's the challenge in that? Of course, almost all of the textures will have to be converted -- Doh! But, Cod2 does have dead horses!

Thanks!
