Afternoon, M&M.

"HyperThreading Technology" is just an Intel marketing ploy.

http://www.intel.com/products/ht/hyperthreading.htm
http://www.intel.com/products/ht/hyperthreading_more.htm

can provide software performance benefits of up to 25%
"up to" does not mean "of".

Afternoon, All.

I might have to withdraw from this contest as well. I've had a busy week and haven't had a chance to even start any mapping :?.

There's no way I could possibly build a decent bridge in a single day (unless it was uninterupted - which it isn't).

Afternoon, tltrude.

That's why I suggested a cave system. All cave systems in use by any military would have vents and ducts throughout the complex. This would give a bit of flexibility to map layouts and routes to take (and where to watch out for those pesky opponents).

I'd prefer the map to be ...

Afternoon, M&M.

You may have a few sectors on your HDD corrupted (even the HDD you replaced).

Run Scandisk.exe to see if that's the problem.

I used to get random errors like you're getting with MS Excel. Found out the excel.exe file was spread over a corrupted sector and once that sector was ...

Afternoon, All.

I'm in.

Wondering if an entire map could actually be the brdge? It'd have to be something the size of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which I don't think I could finish in a week  .

Maybe a bridge over a creek on a golf-course would be more my size :? .

Afternoon, dr shenker.

May be a stupid question but...
You *have* kept the Pak0.pk3, Pak1.pk3, Pak2.pk3, Pak3.pk3, Pak4.pk3, and Pak5.pk3 files in your main directory when you moved the custom pk3 files out?

Afternoon, All.

There's nothing stopping you from starting an unofficial contest while awaiting the official rules/ etc.

How about a prefab for a bridge, for starters?
Can be stone/ wood/ brick/ etc.
Can be one arch/ multi-arch/ no arch.
Could even be a moving drawbridge.

Include a small section ...

Afternoon, ziptie2k2.

An-eye-for-an-eye always seems like an appropriate punishment to curb some peoples undesirable tendencies.
However... :P

What would you do to child molesters? Surely not molest their own child. So what could possibly be the punishment?

A rapist would get their donger ...

Afternoon, All.

As hinted in previous posts, violence in video games/ movies/ etc are triggers for weak minds to cause violence.

For most people these forms of entertainment are just that - entertainment.

Some of these weak minds are due to age (6 years old).
Some are from bad genes (they're just ...

Corrupt JPEG data: 66 extraneous bytes before marker 0x88

There's a corrupt jpg file in whatever map that is.

This information is notifying you that the .jpg fileformat is incorrect (i.e. it's corrupt).

Which image it is I wouldn't have a clue.

Try downloading that map again ...

For starters; install your sound-card drivers. The OS needs those drivers to communicate with the hardware (in this case: your sound card) correctly.

I've always found WinME the worst OS Microsoft has ever developed.
I have a machine with similar specs to yours. The first day I had ...

Afternoon, Freddy.

Could it be MAX_SURFACE_INFO the error you're talking about?
ERROR: MAX_SURFACE_INFO

There is too much shader data in the scripts folder.

SOLUTION: Remove custom pk3s
