Fog of War

Here's my New map:
Fog of War

What if there was a lot of Fog and you couldn't see any farther than three meters?
You have to use your ears!
That's what this map is all about: Using your ears or get shot.
Duck behind a crate, escape to a bunker or climb in the tree, but be silent!

Again i've got the MAX_MAP_BRUSHSIDES error.
I made 100 new brushsides (textured brushides) and I get that error.
Then I removed several 100s of brussides and I still get the error.

Would one of you please take a look at my map?

If you open the bsp with notepad and look at the map detail to confirm that suflarename is none ?
In my burcht.bsp file: "sunflarename" "none"
So that's good

could it be a skybox/custom skybox he's using with a flare allready built in ?
My skybox is africannight, I think that's without sunflare ...

When I go directly to my map (at the end of the compiling)

Compile settings are:
BSP : (nothing)
VIS: -Fast
LIGHT: -Bounce 0

I compiled mohdm7.map again and there was no sunflare...

Sunflare?

Yo Mates,

I'm building another map (i'm almost ready) and there it's night.
So I have sunflarename : none

But in the game I see sunflare. What am I doing wrong?

In your map you should have a speaker with targetname 'speaker' or whatever u like, if u wanna use a speaker that is.

I think that this is asked earlier, but I couldn't find it.
For the map of my school I want a script for the school bel.
After 5 minutes when the map has started you hear the school bel, then after 20 minuten then after 5 minuten.
Like this:
*Start*
*5 minutus*
*school bel*
*20 minuten*
*school bel ...

I hadn't used caulk on all the unseen faces, but yesterdag I fixed the problem and I made some Visbrushes. The Visbrushes works, but (believe it or not, but it is true) I get again the MAX_Map Lighting error
(MAX_MAP_LIGHTING exceeded from 180 lightmaps)

What does that 180 lightmaps exactly mean?

I've made a lot of thebrushes detail(bins, table etc.), the LoadPortals: NumVisBytes 10110272 exceeds 2097152 Error is away, but now I got the MAX_MAP_Brushsides error (and I didn't add any brushes, I only made detailed brushes from structural brushes)
I think I've done something completely wrong ...

Take all your downloads, ( pk3 files ), mods and maps out of your main or mainta folder and see what happens.

But now I have solved the leak of my map and now I get the:

Today I've tried to make VIS and Area portals (I could only make area portals in the toilets because that's the only place where there are no windows)
But when I fill a classroom and a hallway with the visbrush I get the

(only when I've got 2 ...

First, start with reading tuturials and try to build a little test map. (How to make your first room is a good tutorial for starters)
Then you can build larger maps.

(16) Can I edit the "stock" (original) maps ?

The answer is Yes. BUT it really isn't easy. There are 2 ways to edit the original maps :

(a) You can modify the maps .scr (script) file. By doing this you can add things such as models (tanks / trees) but you can't edit a building (for example)

(b ...
