still seems easier to rescale a converted map, re-add the meshes and retuxturing your map than to remake an entire map imho.

had something strange going on, i don't know if it has anything to do with bdbodger's reply..

i followed the tut on making the curve in the street, was no problem (except that it was floating about 3-4 units above the rest of the surface, but lowered it again :P )

but then i attempted to make a ...

didn't look at the meshing part yet (wanted to get to know the program one step at a time)
Do it, then. Patch meshes are one of the most basic things done ...

These are called patch meshes and have been discussed countless times on the forums, as well as covered by tutorials. ;)

curved textures..

Hi,

i was checking out MoH:AA's training map and found out something new i like an awful lot: bent brushes

both screenshots show brushes of a border texture which is curved in many ways and are attached to each other perfectly

i also thought brushes could only be textured at the outside, but the ...

and how many units are to be used for walls, windows, doors, ladders, etc?

Thought we had covered a few already wolf,
Doors for me are 112x56 (stock they are 128x64...too big)
Room height for me is around 160/172.
Windows as squares i'd have 64x64 but they can be anything that suits the building ...

since i can't stand measuring, i just do create an ai_actor and use it as a reference. since that is the height from tip of head to bottom of toe of a player/bot it works for me.
the map i've got in mind is a model of an existing area, and want to make it as realistic as possible, that's why i ...

units vs. meters?

i've been up all night trying out breakable boxes, rotating doors, making houses (which until now are nothing but ugly bricklike construction), etc.

but whatever i do, the scale always seems to be wrong, either the map is made for dwarfs or for giants, but never as it should :(

so, my question is ...

tnx m8 - got my very own map now, eventhough it's just a single room without any doors or windows :P :)

i've added 2 deathmatch spawnpoints, which work well when starting a FFA-match, but when starting the game in a Team match, i get back to main menu.

so if my guess is correct, to make a good DM ...
