Thanks for everyones responses! I'm going to setup a test script and see what comes of it. Thanks nuggets for the script, that would take care of it once and for all. I still want to understand how the main section of a script is executed better.

Thanks,

I guess more of what I'm asking is how much of the script is run again when a new round starts? Do all of the lines of main get run again, like:

level waittill prespawn
level waittill spawn
level waittill roundstart
ect

Thanks for your response!

Disable objectives until 2 players have joined?

Does anyone know how the objectives in a TOW map are disabled until at least 2 players, each on different teams have joined? The tutorial_tow file has the bombs disabled, but a player can go through and flip the switches before another player is in.

In the all of the actually TOW maps, the ...

Easiest way to trigger a sound that can be heard by all?

What would be the easiest way to trigger a sound from script that is heard by everyone in the map, regardless of where they are located? I looked in tow_dm.scr as I think the final countdown of the bomb is heard by everyone, but I didn't understand what made it heard by everyone. Do I need to get ...

Thanks everyone for the input. I've been doing that 5 blank lines to clear the text, but it makes it hard to read earlier messages in the console. No biggie really, I just logfile if I think I'll need it.

Thanks again,

The first part about changing the numbering makes sense, but I don't see how $obj1.ControlledBy !=2 would help change the objective back to neutral. Even if it doesn't equal 2, I haven't been able to find away to assign the objective back to neutral after the round has begun.

I agree that there ...

First off, thanks for your response! I like what you've done with the switch animation, quite cool.

I looked through your script and as far as I can tell, the objectives will start the round out as neutral, but then as soon as a team takes an objective, the objective will always be controlledby ...

I can see how a neutral team taking over the objective might not cause ownership to change, in which case this isn't a problem with the fuction at all. It still leaves how to change an objective to neutral so that no team is listed as owning it during a match, not just at the start of a round. Do ...

I just want to clear the text on the screen. I know it will fade after awhile, but I mean clear it right away with a line of script. It must be possible. Thanks for all your input!

How about if you want to make a variable an integer like "20" instead of "20.000". So...

main:
level.mynumber = 100
thread my_value
end

my_value:
local.n = (level.mynumber) * .1
println "local.n = " (local.n)
end

This will output something like "local.n = 10.000". How would you make it ...

Clear text in upper left corner of screen from script?

Does anyone know how to clear the text displayed in the upper left corner of the screen? I've been looking through all the classes in the SDK and I know it must be in there, but I'm not finding it. I've used the poormans methed of a few iprintln "", but it's hard to catch what else has been listed ...
