well I tried this by making a <mapname>_precache.scr file, which doesnt do anything but load them before the map starts, which the game already does


exec global/DMprecache.scr

cache models/player/allied_101st_snow_capt.tik
cache models/player/german_winter_1.tik

any ideas on what i could put ...

ahh well i knew that from their helmets and shoulder patches, I just mean the snow covered skins adds to the effect, so im wondering if its possible

yeah in the official maps the edges go off for 3 or 4 layers, an example is snowy park, where if you load it up in radiant you wil see that small parts of towns go on a ways past the walls and were made in great detail, as it all adds to the quality of the map

so this is what i wold do if i dont want to use a trigger?, i mean so its there to begin with and im thinking somethin like have it under waittil prespawn, or would i put it before that ...

yep that or start radiant up without it automatically loading the last saved file you were working with then open you map, don't know why but that usually does it
