See at first I was using very low light, ambientlighting at 4.3 5 4.6.
It was pitch black indooors but lit like dusk outside. Then I raised
ambientlighting to 50 50 50. The inside brightened up and I also
added ambient at 60 60 60. But I don't know if adding ambient
lit the outside more or if ...

Balconies and clipping

What invisible texture can I use to block players from falling off
balconies? My map is slowly but surely coming along. I am
having to fix a few problematic issues. Also, can I use the
clipping texture to keep leaves from going into my buildings?

Doors and fast Vis

If you use fast vis does it cause more lines in your brushes to appear?
I am compiling in full to see if it will look a little cleaner. Also, a few
doors are opening towards me, even with alwaysaway keyed in
the entity dialog box. Maybe I am not entering it right. You have
KEY and then VALUE. Do I ...

I have used csg for my doors and windows. It seemed to be okay
with the windows as long as you cut them all at once. Keep cutting
them seperately and it seems to make more brushes. I would also
suggest that if you do use csg for windows and doors that you go
back and eliminate the brushes that you ...

Well, I compiled again with deleting the floor and the door origins,
and it stopped. But now I have to find out if it was the floor or
the rotating door origins.

Troubleshooting

You know, you can't tell any problems you may have until you
compile your map. I have two buildings that are identical. One
is perfectly fine, but the other has a problem. If any of you have
made a ladder before you might run into the problem of having
that funky crap connecting you and the ladder ...

Ahem........there is still no takers on the map collaboration. If
anyone thinks they want to partake in some mapping fun, post
here and I will give you an address to download the .map file.
As said before, it IS NOT YET IN COMPILE FORM. About 95%
done...........need a custom loading screen ...

Another time-saving tip if you don't know..........when making
everything a detailed brush, except the skybox and terrain (I do
not think you can even make terrain detailed anyway) make
this: a box big enough to swallow everything in your map,
except for the skybox. Make sure before you create ...

You might see if (at the very top where it says your map's name
and it's saved location) you have any filters on. Like terrain or any-
thing else. Go to your menu and look under VIEW, then FILTER, and
see if terrain is checkmarked. Take it off............
