Thanks for that. I've got it working of a sorts as now I think I know what actually triggers the AI to act. :lol: If anything the enemy AI was too close to the alarm! The AI was really reluctant to move to the alarm - the player had to goad him into it! It worked better when I moved the AI away from ...

Yes I put pathnodes leading to alarm. Do i have to put any key/values in them?

OK, thanks, but that's in the tutorial and I've already done it. The enemy AI doesn't move to the alarm switch. As the player moves toward the AI the AI will engage the player (i.e. fire at him) rather than move towards the alarm. Any other ideas?

I've just worked through the AI Alarms Tutorial. Everything works almost -but the AI won't switch on the alarm. I've got pathnodes in place but the AI just ain't interested. The player can switch on the alarm and the alarmspawners come right on cue but that isn't quite what I'm looking for! The ...

Friendly AI Problem

Dear All

I've written a basic SP script with three objectives. It all works perfectly until the player meets up with a friendly 'prisoner' Miller. The friendly moves to the player and follows the player - no problem. But as soon as we encounter enemy AI and the firing starts the whole thing freezes ...

:oops: :oops: :oops: Thanks everone. I've spotted the problem :oops: I missed out a couple of CAPITAL letters!! InitPlayer InitObjective. And I must have read through the script fifty times before I spotted it!! :roll: Works perfectly now.

Mission Objective not showing, Compass not pointing

I've tried scripting the 'get the documents' mission. But am having problems:

1. The player can pick up the documents, objective completed comes on screen, and when you press the TAB key it showns a X in the box 'get the documents'. But

2. No Mission Objectives are shown when you press the TAB key ...

Believe it or not Pagis is actually a scanning suite but the great thing as far as I'm concerned is that it allows you to manage and transfer docs and files all over the place. Anyway thanks again.

Thanks Solar.

Steps 1 to 3 OK then I'm stuck at step 4!! But, the good news is that I have managed to get it working by going through Pagis and opening it with Notepad by that route. Done the scripting and it works a treat! Thanks for your input because I'd just about given up!

Thanks, Solar. Sorry about this but any chance you could talk me through it step by step. How do you open a scr file?

I'm probably doing this all wrong. I've opened a new Note Pad file and saved it with a .scr extension. I can't then open it because there is no option to open i.e. no 'Open with' or ...

OK this must be embarrassingly obvious but how do you make a scr file? I've got the whole thing up and running - map, textures, doors, AI, pathnodes etc etc BUT i can't make a scr file so can't do any scripting! :(
