My review?

Hello,

I must have submitted Crossfire Village for review over 3-4 months ago now. I've waited patiently with the understanding that the reviwers must be busy but there's been very few reviews since then.

Any idea when it will be reviewed if at all?

Cheers.

All very sound advice for mappers, experienced or not.

The section that MoH:AA mappers should adhere to the most, I feel, is this part:

Only add routes that are needed - try not to duplicate routes unless necessary.
Think to yourself - 'why would someone want to go to this part of the map ...

If you can learn to use mohrad then Hammerhead should be a doddle for you. It's a lot less buggy and a lot more user-friendly and has many more features than Mohrad.

I just can't wait to create my first "orange room" :D

HL2 looks amazing it makes me drooL every time i look at those preview movies/screenshots, but im all for WW2 games, not into scifi FPS (tried UT2003 last weekend, 2 hours later i was back in the shop returning it) yuk!

Hehe, don't make the mistake of comparing HL with UT.

The original HL is ...

Still can't help but think this is a mistake. Gut feel tells me this game will not do well, either in sales or with the modding community. I hope I'm wrong. I guess time will tell.

I would have to say I have my reservations about it, too.

Not that it's a terrible problem because HL2 will ...

...Half life 2 and doom 3 which youll need a few ?1000 spare to buy the pc needed to run them with.

I'd agree with D3, but ID have never claimed that their game would be otherwise. In fact it's designed to be played on the next generation of Geforce cards.

Half-Life 2, however, is not. Minimum ...

Amazing results... I suppose EA must have more fans who are willing to pay money for shoddy produce than I thought.

Btw, they've not released an SDK after 2 releases and 18 months so to expect them to release one by the end of the year is na?ve in the extreme.

The only thing that would even ...

Re: What the hell ??

What has MOHRadiant been up to?

http://members.lycos.co.uk/zip1000/

I've made some gun racks with some rifles on them. What's happened? I cloned some of the gun rack with space bar, but I shouldn't think that could be it, could it?
The chances are that would be it.

I've seen this once or ...

Of course. Weapon balance critisism is good for future projects (that is, you can take it on board and make your next map suit a different style of play) but most mappers will know that changing large portions of structures can be a real pain once a map is almost complete.

Er, that looks like any of the dozens of SP snowy missions in AA and SH...

Way to go, EA... Pushing the boat out there.

The engine it utilises will have very little impact on graphics or playability, that's entirely up to the designers.

The engine just offers the shell for the code and we all know that the Q3 engine is sturdy and does the job. I don't think it matters what engine they run it on so long as they make ...

Come on, only the most optimistic person will hope for this expansion to be anything more than a poorly designed cash-in from EA.

Call of Duty is much more likely to create the experience you're all looking for. Activision are much better at supporting their products post sales and the designers ...

The release of HL2 will finally lay MoH to rest for me, if I haven't stopped playing it already by then.

Sadly, there's very little else out there to tempt me away from MOH right now so I do still play on publics. Granted, half of the time I am dodging hackers, but I suppose that adds a little ...

Good to see a mapper who is willing to take critisism as feedback and act on it.
