Now that's REALLY wierd... I just tried it again, because I was getting frustrated, and it worked. I didn't do anything differently... really wierd.

No, there's something really wierd going on... even if I try using the set feature instead of fit... the texture blacks out (well, it's not black, it's more of a really dark forest green - semantics).

I was able to bend the patch mesh though... I was just being stupid on that one... figured it out ...

It's a great tutorial, but I ran into two problems when trying it out...

firstly, once the patch mesh is made, and the texture is on, I opened the surface inspector, and hit fit. While the SI was open, the texture looked right, and fit properly. Once I closed the SI, the entire patch mesh went ...

I joined a tactical clan (7RB), and they kept complaining about a lack of new maps... but no one ever did anything about it... so I decided to figure out how to build maps.

I'm no good with the angles either... but I do have this one suggestion for you... don't over-use the spot-light technique... it really seems to destroy the framerate on your maps. I can have 50 lights in my map, different colors, different intensities, and no problem... I manipulate the angle on a ...

I also run a 128 meg Radeon (8500LE) and I have problems with screenshots too. It sometimes only records the top quarter of the screenshot, with the rest left black. I found when I reduced my advanced graphic settings all to 'high' instead of 'max' that the problem was resolved.

Not happy with my ...

I'm trying to get a usable Mauser, and also a usable Health pack in my level. I want a respawn of about 30 seconds, if possible. Any way to do this? I'm not able to figure it out...

But how would you get push_object to react to gunfire? I think it would be possible to script the 'ball' in such a way that it bounces when it hits a player, but I don't even think it's possible to have it react to gunfire.

Agreed, just make your own... this is a great site for beginner mapping tutorials... as is Nemesis' MOHAA Radiant tutorial page.

I've been at this mapping thing for about 6 months now, and I'm at the point where I could confidently recreate any MOHAA stock map. Now I'm just trying to figure out ...

Clipping is a great tool... you can basically create any brush you want with it. The only rule-of-thumb I stick to, with clipping, is maintaining an even ratio of what I clip, on the grid.

I try to go 2 x 2 to get a perfect 90 degree angle, or if that doesn't suit what I'm doing, and I want more ...

I love everything about mapping. Setting up the layout, decorating, furnishing, texturing, all of it! The only thing I truly hate is scripting, because I'm not that good at it, and it's a pain-in-the-ass to get simple things - like loading screens - to work sometimes. I almost always capitalize a ...

well, I do have one large open space in the map, which has a fair amount of objects (bushes, trees, etc...) so that could be one reason. The map itself isn't very large.. there is a large box surrounding it for the sky... probably larger than it needs to be, but I never thought that would also ...
