Jumping to a ladder

Hi guys, wonder if you can help.
In a map I am building a ladder stretches up through a tall building.
There are spawn points on various floors of the building. Problem is when you try and jump onto the ladder you just fall down the hole!

Is there a way to be able to jump over a small gap and get ...

Adding Spawn Points

Hi guys, I hope you can help me.

I need to add some spawn points to some maps.
I downloaded a .bsp to .map converter.
Converted the file and added the spawn points.

But now I am unable to recompile the map.

I use the SDK files etc, but when I try to recompile the map I don't get a .map file at ...

Making Detail Brushes

Ok, I have raed that you can create brushes etc in yout map a Detail brush.
This is upposed to make it compile & run quicker etc.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

If it works, what brushes etc exactly should you change???

Well I have moved out all of my non original .pak3 files.
This made no difference.

So I guess the next thing is to check the directories in MBuilder.

Compie Errors

Hi guys, wonder if you can help.

I am craeting a map for Spearhead. And every so often I use the MBuilder program to compile it and see how it looks.

But when I do I get alot of messages saying 'so...&...so...- Shader has no surface type specified.

Now this comes up for ALOT of stuff!

What am I ...

Unfortunatly for most people, the BEST way of video capture is via a digital camcorder.

We at the wikingclan (www.wikingclan.co.uk) are currently creating a movie.
I have a video card that can create a 2nd output.
I direct this into a video camcorder (I guess you could use a tv too!) and plug a ...

Terminology

I have been reading up on mapping and increasing FPS.
I have just read a review on the Thunder 2 CTF map by jv_map.

The map doesn't appear to be fully vised, that is, none of the buildings block sight.

What does fully vised mean? And the buildings blocking sight?

Obviously I want to keep my FPS ...

Spawn Point Directions

Ok, I can't belive I am sking this as I should be able to figure this out for myself!!

BUT....when you add a spawn point there is an arrow showing where the player will be facing when they spawn. Can you change the direction of this arrow? If so, how?

It is really bugging me now!

Using a Nebelwerfer in Multiplayer

I am trying to add a usable Nebelwerfer in a multiplayer map.
I have added a working Flakk cannon, by choosing Turret Weapon, German, Flakk 88.
But if I do the same and choose a Nebelwerfer, although it appears ok when I run the map I can walk straight through it and can't use it!
How can I fix this ...
