The numbers displayed on the grid are wrong, not the grid itself. As for the screwy descriptions, here is an example:

"Caulk" texture = "\dvml^"
"origin" = "\psjhjo^"

Bizzare!!

Help!! I forgot......

I decided to get back into MOHRad, but I have two nagging problems:

1) My grid runs from 1, 75, 239... ect. How do I get it back to 64 unit increments?

2) My textures, entities and models seem to be tagged in a foriegn language. Where the hell did that come from? I would like those to be in ...

Okay, the good news is that your load screen works.

Now for the map issues:

1) You made just about every brush "detail." As I stated in your other post, this is bad !!! The Quake III engine depends on structural brushes to block visiblity. You have a very large map. The engine is trying to render ...

D/Ling the map now. Looking at the overhead shot on your site, I have an idea of where your problems are. Long, straight streets with accesible bulidings are a rendering nightmare for the Quake III engine. If you have windows in those bulidings, the engine is looking through them and rendering what ...

Dumb question (Lighting keyword)

Stupid question time. What's the entity keyword that controls the brightness (intensity) of a light entity? I can't remember!!!

(Yes, I did do a search. Here and three other sites!)

What happened to the enitity keyword list you guys used to have??

Okay, this is a judgement call. You need structural brushes in you map for VIS blocking. If you make everything detail, the Q3 engine will be able to see your whole map. That is not a good thing!!!

Here is an example:

Build a room. Leave the six sides sturctural. Put some columns in it. These you ...

The LOD terrain feature is part of MOHRad, not GenSurf. On your menu, third from the right is an option called "LOD Terrain."

First, create a brush, say 128x128. Give it an outdoor texture. Click on LOD Terrain and select "create form brush." That 128x128 brush just became a 512x512 LOD patch ...

I gave up on EasyGen. The results were too "hit or miss." Besides, All those little triangles making up the terrain send your VIS data size to the moon.

I did a little experiment. I made a bridge crossing a small ravine. In Map A, I made the walls out of brush triangles. VIS data size: ~275000. In ...

You can do some pretty cool things with Gensurf. It is a Quake 3 plugin that works with MOHRad. Get It here:

My only nit-pik is the floor texture in the second screen. Floors look so much better when scaled down to .5H and .5V.
