Yeah, I thought that might be the case so I tried it. Still gone. I'm sure my pinky didn't venture to backspace at the same time I hit 'h', so those guys had to have gone somewhere. :?

Not too concerned though, I'm sure someone here uses 'h' regularly (not to be confused with Ctrl+H)

How to UN-hide?

Ok, I haven't mapped in a while, but I naturally selected a few brushes and hit 'h' to hide them so I could work behind them. Now I've been searching all the drop down menus and trial-and-error tapping at key combinations, but I can't figure how to bring those brushes back. I'm pretty sure 'h' isn't ...

It's sad. I was really enjoying mapping and pursuing some novel ideas two summers back, but then went abroad to Japan and lived without PC or modding. I'm back now and just graduated, am diving back in and working on some interesting things, but I keep slowing because I KNOW that aside from my small ...

I did beta testing for a program Adobe was making a few years ago (back when I was making websites, not mapping). The program is called Atomosphere and I think it will do everything you need. It's designed to be used for building 3-D web pages, or whatever else you want to do. You'll have to buy the ...

What I miss about mapping

So I came to Japan to study last September - partly because I thought it would be the best way to learn the langauge, and mostly because as a fifth-year 'super senior' I had tired a bit of college.

I've had fun, but there have been some things I've missed. Friends and family, greasy (tasty) foods ...

Ok, you lost me with array examples right here:

local.n[variableOne][variableTwo][5] = 23
local.a = local.n[variableOne]
local.b = local.a[variableTwo]
println local.b[5] // prints 23

I don't quite understand the function here. Are the second and third lines defining variableOne and variableTwo ...

Hey! It's good to see that you're still alive. I haven't heard from you in a couple of weeks. I'm glad that you like what you see. I've really improved a lot over these last few months. When you get back we'll have to do a collaboration together, ok? :D

Sure thing, I've been just itching to. I'm ...

Looking good, dogg; great revamp of an old project, eh :wink:
Can't wait to get back into the stuff myself once I get out of this place. I quit drinking the other day... it'll save me loads of cash. It makes me sad now when I think about how much I've spent going out drinking. What a loser, right ...

Well, with my work schedule, etc up until I leave in two weeks, it doesn't look like I'll be finishing any sort of demo map of this. If anyone ever tries it, let me know. I'd really like to see if it works well.

when you make a brush an entity, select it, push N, type in the key dialog: $targetname and in the value dialog: whatevernameyouwant

I like this idea.

and I wasnt around- I left after I made that post.

i forgot to add one thing- when you "hide" the buildings, also make them "notsolid" so it ...

Since you're around:

How do I add a target name to a group of brushes?
What do you think of this idea, personally?
Um... yeah. :P And thanks for all your help so far.
