play in multiplayer

Post by raven_963 »

Hi everybody,

I have just started to create maps for Medal of Honor. I have follewed the tutorial on this site (witch is great by the way) . Wen i test the map with the mohaa console it works great, but how i can play my map in deathmatch multiplayer? I mean that the map would be in the list of the multiplayer games to host a game. Ik have added the script for deathmatch maps, but still doesn't work. Has anyone got the solution?

Thanks

Using mapbuilder ? Goto other options and put a checkmark by ffa/tdm. Make sue you are saving to main/maps/dm folder. Should show up .

You have an info player start, a allies start, an axis start, and a deathmatch start ?

Neillomax is right, you just need to put the .bsp and .scr file in the main/maps/dm folder -- create a dm folder if need be. To play it with other people, you have to send them the files, or upload a .pk3 somewhere for them to download.

Thanks very much. I've did what you guys said and the map works perfectly! I have only one question. Many custom maps i've downloaded have the extension .pk3. If you open these files with winrar, you see that the pk3 file actually a rar file is with maps\dm\*.bsp in it. So I did this to but it doesnt work. Does anyone have a cleu why the pk3 file not works?

.pk3

I use Winzip, but winrar should work too. Make a maps folder on your desktop, open it and create a dm folder inside it. Then put copies of your *.bsp and *.scr files in the dm folder and close them all. Right click on the maps folder and create a zip or rar file and rename it mymapname.pk3. Then the folders on the desktop can be deleted.

Note: The files in the main/maps/dm folder will be used by the game over the ones in the pk3. So to test the pk3, those files will need to be moved. The pk3 goes in "main" of course.

Save it in winrar as a zip file and not a rar file or get pakscape and use it .
