Found this Russian Afghanistan War Movie at a UK web site (streaming video). The translation subtitles are not the best, but its a good movie anyway.

yes, 9aya rota (original title) is quite a good film...
i'd recommend zvezda (star), a russian ww2 film, too... don't know if you find it on the internet tho.
