firefox users - vanishing bookmarks
anyone ever have firefox come up without your theme and bookmarks gone ? instead getting the default skin, no bookmarks and homepage set to mozilla .
for the record, periodically save your bookmarks . system restore doesn't do the trick .

cleaner
I don't have Firefox, but it sounds like you have some kind of cleaner program that clears away all changes to the basic browser program. The next time you run your cleaner programs, check for restore options, or options for listing what problems they found with the browser before removing them.

BTW what's the best way to save your bookmarks to somewhere outside of FF?
(it's saved anywhere as an .html file) .

ff vs. 2.0.0.8 just came out and i recommend cooliris preview and adblock plus for extensions . adblock plus got rid of those banner ads here at .map without leaving a big gaping hole . cooliris is cool for when i'm browsing forums and am just too damn lazy to click on the last post link for a thread .

no it's the uuid (universal unique identifier) you have to have assigned to any mozilla extention or theme . if you ever go into your extentions folder, you'll see almost all if not all the folders are named with one . simply put, it's so if you make a theme with a name, it doesn't override someone elses . i had to get my own for the theme you see in the image above that i built a year ago . there are websites that automatically assign one for each project . building a theme for firefox is very similar (though a lot more involved) to reskinning a mohaa skin . basically you're just replacing the images with your own images and using the same name .
