Need someone to make 4th Inf Div Soldiers

Post by Ulf Söderhjälm »

Hi

Im making a mod concernig the 4th IDs landing during D-day.
But there is only Rangers and 29th ID soldiers available.
So i need a skilled modeler to make some 4th ID troops.

If some one is interested, here is what i need:

4th ID Private
4th ID Corperal
-:- Sergant
-:- Liutenant
-:-Captain

-:- Medic and Engineer

Please note: this isn't a job you will get paid for!
This is mearly if you just want to do this for fun, helping a poorly modeler like me or just show your skills! :D

Well, there will be a sort of reward: A BIG honour place in the credits!

No idea about differences to the other Divisions. :?
But couldn't you take existing models and just change their textures? That should be rather simple supposing u got pictures of those 4th ID soldiers...

Textures to change would be in Pak2.pk3/textures/models/human/...

I didn't see that he's a modeller. I didn't read all of Ulf's threads though. On the other hand, if he was a modeller, why would he need someone else to make his new models? :?

Anyway, I just wanted to state, that changing textures would be way easier than creating completely new models and that maybe this would be sufficient if it just needed some new badges, colours or whatever...

Skins

I agree, what he is looking for are a set of new "skins". Here is a tutorial.

Yes, Im looking for well, new skins.
I tried to make some models of my own, but the result was earth shattering.....crap.
By the way, i don't have photoshop annymore.

I need one thats been "in the buisness" for some time.

The modeller acctually don't need to make 100% new skins.
Just give the uniform and pants the right color, add a unit patch, some gear, rank chevrons....and he is done!

for the record i believe the lad is using modeler to mean modder . also, looks like the 4th is not really different than the regular infantry default skins other than having the below divisional insignia...

Exactly.
The skins need the divisional shoulder patch.

But i also want the new skins to look more authentic.

The uniform jacket sand colored, the pants green colored and add some extra stuff.

Im not capable to do these skins because:
1. I don't have Photoshop any more.
2. The time i had PS i noticed i sucked on making new skins, even simpel ones.

SO i need some one else to do them for me, if there is someone kind enough to do that.
:D :D

Now, does things look clearer?

Thats looks nice! :D
Good work! :D

It can be used as NPC?

Is it possible to change some of the uniform colours?
Jacket and pants?

To some thing like this:Image

Notice the cammoflauge helmet.
Could you also do that to some privates?

Would be really nice if you could do that :D

Helmet scrim as its called is optional and if i were to draw it on the helmet it would have no texture. imagine flat strips of burlap painted on the helmet. Thats what it would look like. The purpose of the helmet net and scrim was to break up the obviously round shape of a helmet as a means of camoflauge.

As for the pants. the pants are an accurate color. If you look at the color changes in uniforms and gear produced throughout the war by hundreds of different manufacturers, you'll see a wide variance in colors. The pants as is are still correct. Case in point, the manufacturers who made the reproduction wool trousers those reenactors are wearing, vary from reproduction manufacterer just like they did in the war. BTW, the two on the right look like they're wearing jump boots. tsk :P

Alright

But the skins are usable in the MOHRADIANT right?
It looks like just an MP player skin.
