To avoid a complete map loss due to crashes or whatever, I have checked "Autosave" and "Snapshots" in Radiant's Preferences. This way, I always have several backups of my maps (which should be deleted manually from time to time)

I have autosaves go to a different folder than my regular saves. That way, if I make a terrible mistake, it wont autosave over a copy that I know I like And then I just manually save everytime I do something I like.

I developed this little tick where I click save pretty much about every 30 seconds practically lol... sometimes....
