reinstall of MOHAA

Post by yellowhand »

I hope some of you veterans can help me. After I replaced my harddrive & tried to install MOHAA, I get "can't open, GL error" when trying to play. I have installed no other hardware (other than a nic card for DSL). I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling, but no change. Have enve tried to play in safe mode (from the MOHAA screen, not winXP).

any tips so I can get back to playing?

Thanks for your help

Are your discs scratched? Sometimes the installation will just skip certain files that it can't read and you don't know. If your discs are not corrupt then you may have invalid video card drivers.

Your discs are OK. Update the video drivers.

Configure.exe attempts to set the video quality settings according to your system specs. However, I don't recommend using it as it usually fails to detect the true power of a system and sets all details to low (at least that's what it does on my P4 3GHz with 1,5GB of RAM and a GeForce 8600GT).

thks for the tips. what ended up working was what Rookie1 mentioned- updating drivers. except I actually rolled back the driver. the newest version I downloaded was older than I had, so I gave it a try & it worked.

thks again.
