Textures appear as static garbledness.

Post by StarGeneral »

Hi guys, It's me again :)

I took a look at my SA map today to begin work again and much to my surprise the textures all appeared messed up...like garbled colored static.

When I hit the reload textures thing it fixes it, but it doesn't fix the textures on the entities.
Help?

----------
ALSO: I need help finding leaks in my map, when I hit show next leak it takes me to a spot but there is nothing there...so...need help with that too.

How does it look like when you compile it? Or when you restart mohradiant?

The messed up textures is probably a lack of memory -- graphic and/or computer. You can try changing the type of render under view, but it will probably get worse as the map grows. Giving it less textures to draw is always a good idea. So, using the view filters should help.

The important part of the red line is where it ends in the void outside your sky box. The vis leak will be fixed when the sky box is sealed -- no gaps.

No, the map was made with the original AA builder.
My computer has plenty of ram and has a great graphics card...never seen this problem before.

Thanks for help on leaks.

Did fresh re-install of MoHRadiant and MOHAA, nothing happening. Also took out all mods, nothing.

here is a picture of a few entities garbled up:

I never saw that before, but the trucks look like they are from RTCW.... the map they released. Hope somebody has the answer... I'd like to know.

Check under view > render to see what it is set as. Also check preferences for anything to do with models. And look through the command list in help.

I have never seen that before. Are you missing a pk3 or something?

I have a hunch what it might be. I had a no-cd crack that came with some extra .dlls, I need a list of the .dlls that should be in the MOHAA folder along with the exe.

Those trucks are from the single player campaign on MOHAA :)

If they are imported models they may have had their own shaders and you need to import those over as well.

I can't tell you the list of dlls because I don't have access to them right now but just wondering. (I am not meaning this to be a crack/warez question) Why did dlls come with it? For my nocd patch it just has the mohaa exe.

I might have used a hack or something once and forgot to remove it, usually hacks come with a .dll or two, sorry I got no-cd and hack mixed up :)

Like i said, those are models FROM THE GAME, all entities look like that ok, not just the trucks.

A hack that removes texture that overwrites the games dll. how nice for your opponents. I don't call them hacks, I call them CHEATS !

Maybe your "hacks" are screwing up your textures. Lets me take a guess... You play with your "hacks" online! If you do well, I don't want to ever see your name when I am playing! I hate cheaters! Learn how to play the right way.
