Adding music to map

Post by maverick »

Hello all. I was just wondering if it is possible to put your own soundtrack to a multiplayer map. Im working on a best of movie locations map pack and wanting to add the movie music to each map. So far there a map for: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter. I plan on doing more movie locations then just those but i figured those would be a great place to start. If anyone would be interested in helpping with this map pack like making levels, writing scripts, and ect. it would be greatly appreciated, can't do everything myself.lol but yeah thanks for the help.

One way you could make your own .mus file - look in

music

place your mp3 in the sound folder like

sound/amb

and execute it from your map

exec global/ambient.scr mymap

.mus file ...
using notepad, copy and paste . changing red
path sound/amb <---path where the file is

normal YOUR-SOUND-FILE.wav // Plays over entire level <---Name of file

!normal volume 1
!normal loop

//Music Recommendation
//mus_09a_action.mp3

//Just in case we can get multiple ambiences working...
//normal Amb_M5_BridgeInt.mp3 // Player Start
//!normal volume 1
//!normal loop
save as yourmapname.mus (txt file)
then in your map's .scr file under level script add...
exec global/ambient.scr your-.mus-name
save your map's .scr .
place in maps/dm
create a folder/directory named ''music'' in your .pk3
place your .mus file inside
place your sound file in the directory you noted in the map's .mus file (ie. in this example mohaa\main\sound\amb)
i'm not f****** angry, i'm from philadelphia .
