The term assault means to fight. Well it has different meanings, but in military terms it stands to fight or combat. And Open has a plethora of meanings too, however it's a very universal term that is commonly used among open source programs. So being that you put 1 & 1 together, I think the name makes very good sense. Offcourse I believe it still requires commercializing, however this is all for the future once we get the core of the engine working properly. There is still alot of work to put into this project, but I think it's good that we discuss this now. Some of us have different opinions, and that's alright. We all have the right to think and express our own opinions there is nothing wrong with that & noone will hold that against you.
One thing I do want to throw out is, when you pick out a name, I realize "Zweiter Weltkrieg" may sound cool, but the only thing I have against that name is the fact that unless you're dutch\german (sorry not sure what language this is in), you won't understand what the name is.
English is the most commonly spoken language across the world, and as long as the name is simple and easy to remember, I think it would be a good name.
The other name that I actually liked is the one brought up by the individual "dogs of war", at first I thought it was a bit silly, but after I heard the reason & explanation behind the name, it makes very good sense. That and the fact that Pink Floyd rocks

haha
However as I mentioned before it's all about simplicity. This is where the acronym KISS comes in

. We want people to look at the name and atleast have a general idea of what it is about.
Once again this is open for discussion, and I don't mean to criticize anyone here, just sharing my opinion and thoughts.
