Milkshape help

Post by MOHAATiger »

Hello all. Up to this point, I have been a skinner and modder of already existing files in MOHAA.

I decided recently to take up making my own weapons. So far I have downloaded Milkshape, got the pugin to view SKD and gotten the plugin to export SKL and SKB.

I have been searching the internet for tutorials to understand the basic BASIC ways to use this program but all the things I've found so far miss the basic things.

If anyone could explain to me or give me a tut that explains:

What bones are
What joints are
Why you need bones
Why you need joints
How to add bones
How to add texture

And other simple concepts

Thanks a bunch,

There's so many tutorials exactly on those basic concepts on the net that you deserve a spank for not using Google!

Lol. Please do not spank me... all the tuts I've look at miss the basic things for example.. what is a bone? what is its purpose?

All of them i've found skip ahead straight to drawing the vertex's and from there on...

either that or I am trying to find into in the wrong place...

You didn't bother to ask Google about basic 3D modeling concepts, now did you?

Even though most of that stuff is not for Milkshape, it is applicable in it, as all 3D modeling software shares those concepts. And as far as I can remember MS3D had a decent help file which explained a lot of things.

Not that I ever liked Milkshape, IMHO it's the worst low-poly modeler out there.
