Vista/radiant
I have it loaded and set up correctly. Have the endefs3 in main.
After loading radiant I look for textures and there is nothing there. I look for worldspawn in 2d window there is nothing there.
I load a release map into the main/maps/dm folder. Load radiant, look for map. It's there. I load map and all textures are of the blue and black brushes. Walls, floor, sky, everything.
The worldspawn info is being loast and the textures are being lost. Any takers ?
The blue and black is the same as if when you load radiant and just start brushwork without selecting caulk.

The project setting tell it where the textures are . When it starts does the console window show you the texture shaders loading ? If the paths are not right or you don't have load last project on open checked then it won't find entdefs or the textures . See if starting a new project ( new project not new map ) will help .
No on the texture shaders loading. Don't see it happening.
Sure the paths are right, but will look again to make sure.
No, load last project is not selected. Will try it when I get on that machine later.
EDIT: proj settings was checked. I looked on another machine to see how it was set up, everything was the same. The textures and world spawn are not copying over. I reinstalled, again, and Vista said that it didn't install properly. Tried a few more times, same thing.
I tried looking for the uninstall option in Vista, ( add REMOVE ) programs. Found the "add" but couldn't find remove. Manually removed everything I could find and tried again........ no soap.
Might have to write to microsoft to see if they'll replace Vista with xp-pro64 .

Other people have had problems reinstalling. I think you have to go into the registry to fix it. For the texture problem, it is the basepath to the game in Project Settings that was wrong -- the path may be different in Vista. Or, it could of been your hard drive is not "C" in the new machine.
The project settings include the paths so it you don't have that set you will have to redo the paths each time quit and start again . If vista is having a problem it is more likely that mohradiant would not run at all . since it does run then I can't see it not being able to find the files , Vista uses the same file system as XP .No, load last project is not selected. Will try it when I get on that machine later.
Thank you. After reading the last 2 posts a tried again. Here are the results for Vista 64bit
c:\program files (x86)\ea games\mohaa\
c:\program files (x86)\ea games\mohaa\maps\dm
c:\program files (x86)\ea games\mohaa\maps\
base path/maps path/auto save....... just copy and paste
now it works. Hope this helps others.

Well it was good for a while. Then I tried to compile the map. Can't make a .bat file. So now I have to figure out what in Vista is keeping mapbuilder from doing it's job.
I'm about ready to napalm my neighborhood. vista totally sucks. Wouldn't be so bad if they took what xp had and just made it better. Instead they made something in reverse.
Everything I tried with this opsys is a struggle.

I'm not exactly sure what I did because I messed with it off and on for about an hour or two, but I can now compile a map. I think I have it set to run in compatability with xp-pro and also as administrator.
I'm sure I did both of those before, but maybe not. So I assume that's the fix........... ?
Hope it works when I wake up and try it again later today.

Admin mode
I think you are correct about being in admin mode. Check out this post.

Builder.bat
Yeah, you have to be in admin mode for both the program made for creating the map with, and the program you are compiling the map.
