Is it possible to...

Post by PhilsEmpire »

Is it possible to select everything at once in one map, and put it into another map? I'm currently working on a map, and I want to put my house (the map I want to import) into the main map with the roads/trees etc. Thank you in advance. :)

EDIT: Never mind. I've found this great thing called Prefabs.

EDIT 2: I just saved my map I wanted to import as a prefab, tried importing it into my main map and it didn't work :(
Any ideas?

I think if you select everything and then open a different map, it'll ask if you want to merge the two maps together.

If its too much too select, make a huge brush one that covers everything on the map, keep it selected, go to Selection>Select Touching (it will select everything, now open up your other map, it'll ask you "Copy selection?" hit yes, the brushes will be copied to your map, heres the hard part,if it is a lot of brushes move them very slowly to where you want them, Radiant crashes if you move them quickly

I completely surround my building or what ever with a caulk "cube". Select/inside and then save it as a prefab and stick it in the prefab folder for use later on........... in any map I make if needed.

Okay guys, thanks a lot for the tips. Smart idea using the Select Inside function! :o

EDIT: I have another question, so I might've well put it in this thread. When I open a door from one side, it opens on me and pushes me back. Any ideas?

Thank you once again :)

yup, Load your map into the one you are working on, easiest way.
