How Many "units" Make Up One Foot?

Post by HandyTech »

When you're drawing on MOH Radiant, what is a sqaure equal to? I'm referring to the smallest sqaures. These sqaures only appear when you have pressed "1" and are zoomed in very close. The graph numbers (such as 64, 128, etc.) do not seem to corespond to these numbers. In a nother post it says "16 units = one foot" -- what is a unit equal to? Should I use the numbers on the grid as a guide for "16 = 1 foot"?

I personally use 50 units is 1 m which is pretty close to 16 units being 1 foot. In other words, 1 unit is a sixteenth of a foot :)

How many units are represented by a square depends on your grid setting (you select a grid setting with the 1,2,3 .... buttons). Have a look in the menus for what values they represent.

There is also an option 'paint sizing info'. Otoh you enable it by pressing q. That will instantly tell you the size of the selected object, even if it doesn't align with the current grid.

The answer to my question was that 16 units does equal 1 foot after pressing "1" to enable the most detail on the grid. My procedure is measure in inches, so let's say 86. Then I devide by 12 to get the feet and then multiply by 16 to find out how many units. Primitive, but it works. Thanks for your reply, hopefully this will be of some help to others.

when I map, I put in a spawn, ie info>player>start. the yellow box represents the size of the player=6 feet, from there you can figure out size of walls, walkways, etc
