Naughty little nodes

I have a warning about 2 nodes. Something about 2 nodes without a volume, node has 2 tiny portals. What does it all mean Basil???? (Austin Powers)

I'm pretty sure i have found them as when i compile and look around i see 2 areas that are darkened out.

How do i correct these? I went and deleted them both and they reappeared. Went back and did it again and it fixed them, but they switched to the opposite wall. It's like i go in and fix them and they move. So i have to give chase.

I might ad that these only happen on certain tilted walls.

Any help as to get rid of them would be most excellent. :D

You can't see nodes without volume or tiny portals. Get Bob's tools to "purge evil polys". They are usually the result of using csg subtract and have nothing to do with what texture you are using.

Hmmmmm, so what causes an end section of a textured brush to fade into black?

Maybe i will post an image to show it.

I saw these Bob's tools once in GtkRadiant, when I was tired of those MOHAA-textures and wanted to start RTCW-mapping ( the camera-control made me come back...).
I have never seen them or other plugins for MOHRadiant. Are there any? Can I make those of Gtk work in MOHRad?

Rendering problem. Make brushes detail, add hint brushes, whatever it takes to get the compiler to see splits differently.

And, yes there is a version of Bob's tools that plugs in to MOHR.... think it's the same as GTK version.

Great! Only thing is, I have all these plugins for Gtk, but either they aren't working in MOHR or I don't know how. Is there a place I can dl bob's tools for MOHR (file planet didn't show results) or can s.o. tell me how I could make MOHR use this (or these) plugin(s)?
Only source I found for BobToolz (=Bob's Tools?!) was planetquake.com/toolz but there isn't anything anymore...

Most GTKR tools don't work with MOHR, but Bob's tools do... and so does Gensurf (if you are interested).

Have put them into the plugins-folder, and they don't work. The only thing I have in MOHR under Plugins is 'Refresh' :cry:
What else do I have to change?

I'm bringing up an old subject because I had the same problem. I found this post with a search, but the original author never posted what actually worked for him (Although, I figured his last post would be the most promising lead) :idea: I managed to fix 4 these nodes and I thought I would post my solution for others who run into the same thing.

First, I downloaded and ran Rogue's plugin (see Compiling Errors sticky)(extract it to MOHTools/plugins) and that took care of a node at (0.00, 0.00, 0.00), but 3 others remained. I used the co-ordinates given in the error message to find the offending brushes. At each f the 3 sets of co-ordinates, there were a few angled brushes coming together at a point. I selected all these brushes and made them detailed (as suggested by balr14). Problem disappeared that easy (if only I hadn't spent days figuring this out)

Well, that's what worked for me, I hope I can save others some time. :wink:
