Spiral stairs & decompiler

Post by pollomizzega »

Hi,
I'm creating a small map, and I like to add spiral stairs... I googled a lot, and I found a prefab from Tltrude, I don't know where I downloaded it...
I want to add a railing to the prefab, I want to have stairs like in the m1|3c.bsp (the torch)... I tried to decompile it with mohaa tools, but I couldn't decompile all the brushes (like the railing :D )... I used version 1.0b...I couldn't find any newer version... does anyone know how to do a railing in spiral stairs?
If anyone can post a link to a newer version of MohaaTools it would be nice... or any other decompiler that works...

there are only two decompilers that I know of, the one made by MPowell1944? and the other by ScorpioMidget, it is in a pack, comes with a bsp viewer, scr editor, and a whole bunch of other stuff

Thanks a lot, the second decompiler you gave me works very well (I think). Now I've my railing... but I don't understand how can I make another railing for spiral stairs without copying it from the original map....
Thanks a lot again,
If anyone knows how to make railings in spiral stairs, it'd be great...

Hi,
I've finally done my spiral staircase, using the tut for Jedi Outcast, but I still have problems with the railing.. I've found patch meshes, and I used them, but I don't know how I can do a patch mesh of a cylinder...
I haven't any idea...do you have?
Thanks for the help.

make a brush

select/curve/simple mesh

select curve/primitives/cylinder

pull and stretch and shorten however you need.
