ERROR While trying to run my map

Post by FreddeN »

This is my first time trying to make a DM map...

When I try to run the map, I just gets this message:

ERROR: No player spawn position named ". Can't spawn player.

I have putted Spawn Points for Allies and Axis.

Thanks for all answers!

Well, it would appear your spawn points are not correct for your players. :)

Don't know if it matters or not but I never had a map that didn't have an info/player/start in it.

Alright, I have tryed to repair it by adding info/player/start etc... but I cant get it into Multiplayer, it just spawns me as Singleplayer.

And if I try to add Axis and Allied Spawn, it just gives me that error...

Delete all your axis and ally spawn points. Put in new ones and make sure they're not inside walls or inside clips or below ground. Start with one or two and see what happens.

Are you using mapbuilder to compile this ?

Are all your custom pk3 files out of the main and mainta folders before you started this project ?

This should be an easy fix. I can't look at mapbuilder right now, but, in the middle on the bottom you should see three small rectangular boxes. One will say refresh and not sure what the other 2 say. I think the one in the middle will take you to another screen. There you will see options for FFA/TDM or obj, etc. Make sure the FFA/TDM is selected. Go back and refresh and re-select your map and compile. It should work in team match or free for all.

Sorry to Disappoint you, but this didnt fix it... it still gives me the error...
Can it be the position of the map? Can it be something with the map name...

Right now my map is placed in mohaa/main/maps
And my map name are test_101st_training

mohaa/main/maps/dm

now you have to make mapbuilder point to mohaa/main/maps/dm

test_101st_training.map goes in the dm folder.

I maked MBuilder to locate the maps/dm folder, I saved the map in the dm folder and tested to compile, but now it tells me it cant find the .bsb file...

And if I try to enter the map through maplist, it tells me the old error, no play position named...

Looks like this never gonan end xD

In radiant.... I'm not sure if it's under "file" or not but......... file/preferences....... and look for the set up that will point it to your dm folder..... I think stock it points to maps....so just add dm to the end. ... Again, this might not be under file but under one of the next two options.\

Whether it's gong to make a difference I don't know. If you still have problems you can send me your map and I'll reload radiant and see if I can find the problem. Too difficult for me to remember things without the tools in front of me.

Finaly, I maked it into the map, and can now spawn and select team, but, I putted a info_player_start, so, Axis and Allied spawns at the same place...

Any ideas how to fix that?

The info player start was to enable you could get in your map. Now you can put info player axis and info player ally where ever you want. Start adding them. Make sure they are a little above ground so you don't get stuck when you spawn. Also make sure that none of them are partially buried in walls.
