Ladder start position is blocked by a solid object

Post by FreddeN »

Hello Again, my second post...
This time, I got a problem with a ladder I am trying to create.

I followed the Ladder tutorial on the site, but it didnt went well...

So, I get this error:

Code: Select all

Ladder start position is blocked by a solid object
Anyone know what I should do?

Thanks.[/img]

Keep the bottom of the ladder brush slightly above ground.

Keep the ladder brush ( trigger ) slightly away from the ladders rungs.

Make the ladder brush about 8 units higher than the ladder so you can get off at the top........

if it works I'll be waiting to help you with angles if needed.

I don't use the entity window much. I usually right click in the 2d window. It's easier to find stuff........

When you select "function ladder"..... do you have the ladder brush selected and also the ladder ? I always had the ladder highlighted as well. Might not work if you don't. That could be your problem.

I've been thinking that you may get this problem if the angle is wrong. Getting them right the first time isn't easy, even for an experienced mapper.
