Started making a single player snowy forest type map a little while ago as I had always liked the few snowy stock maps from the campaign and how they were created.
I've never tried doing a snowy forested mission before so it won't be brilliant. Just thought I'd post some pictures to see what people think.

Objectives include finding documents that contain the locations of all the cannons in the area and then destroying 88's and other types. I've done some of the forest area and completed a large bunker that is located on a cliff edge that opens up at the top of a hill where the first cannon is located.
Hope it looks OK!

Hi Smithy,
Wow you got me surprised, the screens looks absolutely top-class. I love the attention to detail. Also great to see someone doing SP maps, they are a rarity.
One thing to watch out for is that the foggy snow bunker type of map has a tendency of becoming somewhat... hmm bland/dull on the eye. It may help to increase the fog distance. Or just stick a building with red plaster or something in there. Not to sound like an interior architect, but some colour often does a map well
Great work in any case. Keep it up

Wow, this was a while ago. Since this topic was made I haven't really done much in terms of mapping as university got in the way. But now it's Summer I might start working on this map again. I've already made changes since those screens were posted.
Perhaps more screens will be posted in the near future.

RE: Snowy Forest (SP)
Greetings Smithy!
I remember looking at the above screenshots back when I first discovered this website. It's obvious that you have a lot of talent in MOHAA mapping. Since I've played pretty much every MOHAA singleplayer map I can find on the internet, I'm quite excited to hopefully see this new SP map available for download some day.
Keep up the good work, and I hope to see some recent screenshots!

Thank you Cpt. Duke, really appreciate it! Yeah I too have tried every single player map out there. I can only think of one or two that actually resemble the original campaigns, in terms of detail, enemy placements, etc. I'm not saying my maps are of that quality but I try to recreate that as much as possible.
When maps have random enemy placement, either spawn wise or random types of AI -- for example, having Afrika Korps in a non-desert map or an army of officers wielding rifles, it kind of ruins it for me.
Oh, and thanks jv_map, I'm studying 'Computer Studies', quite a broad degree, web development, programming and such.
Just finished my 2nd year with a 2:1, so I'm happy about that! Hopefully get that for final year
.
Cheers,
Smithy
