Milkshape...the lowdown

Post by Sgt.Stafford »

I thought I'd start a thread that maybe evryone with info could post in. It seems I am not the only one whos having trouble making custom models and weapons etc.

I have now got Milkshape :D but upon tryin to open certain skd's an error occurs saying that number of weighted vertices is not supported.
Also no textures are loaded.

Does anyone know how to sort this?

Could someone post a brief tut on what plug-ins are needed and how you open/edit a basic model for export and use in MOHAA.

I read that there is an exporter for 3D Max but no one seems to know where to find it. If there is such a thing, surely there should be an importer?

Milkshape seems compatable with most games that require 3D modelling so is there a way to use 3D max and Milkshape together?

I know .map is a .....'Mapping Site' but I think it would really help the community to get some general tut's on this.

Do you have any plans to add a section on modelling? I have a feeling that .map is gonna get a lot bigger but hopefully without losing its touch of closeness.
Also, I can't seem to find the search facility for the forum?
Im sure I read somewhere that there was one?

This site has great potential.......I can almost hear the patter of all those feet heading this way

No actually I mean a tut page called ".skd" for modelling or ".tga" for skinning, as Surg used ".map" for mapping.

I get ya now about the sections......Yeah that would be good.
Maybe it will happen.......hint....hint

Also, unless I am mistaken (Blind) there is no prefab area. I think it would benefit some people and give others a chance to show of thier skills.

And for those, who like me, have no skill....we could have a skill section........bang.......oh....he got me
