ok i have no idea how to use area portal but i have some train cars i made and when u are near them they eat up your fps can someoen help i would even send the bsp to them if they thought they could show me ho S.O.S. :roll:

Use thin areaportal brushes in doorways. They will hide all of your map behind the door if the following conditions apply:
  • Your map doesn't have leaks.
  • Both areas are completely sealed by either structural brushes or other areaportalled-doors. This means you can only use areaportals in few occasions.

ty jv i will keep that in mind but this is a train rail with plenty of cars .....i run the ati 9700 pro and in alot of the mapi get 88-168-225 but when i look at the cars i get 49-62 regradless of where i am in the map if i look to that direction i get this is there any way to build or put portals around the railroad to ease up on this?
