in algiers the "fake windows" that hve light behind them what is the correct way to do tis use the wall texture and add a light behind it or build a fake room???????

It sounds like U are talking about a window texture that is a "light emitting surface"

Like light/warewindowlit3 ... it is a texture that glows ( i.e. the compiler generates a number of spot lights from the surface outwards )

yep that is it so ummmm is the surface itself emitting light and i do not have to do anything special ?

Nope... just find a window texture and smack it up... U dont need to set any values or do any scripting as far as I know... or check how its done and make your own lit texture...

ok still ost in radiant where do i find light/warewindowlit3 when i type in windows all i see are the regular windows in radiant and thank you for your help

textures > Light

In that list of textures you will find windows that are back lit :)
