Routers

Anyone know how to work around routers. Seems my router is why i cannot have peers directly connect to me for gaming. Are there ports to work with? That i need to open?

Yes you do need to disconnect a router when doing this. I had a friend send me a file through MSN Messenger and couldnt becuase of a router then he just took it off and sent me the file then connected it back. His name is Rezner try contacting him on how he did it.

The same goes for the Firewall you can use that comes with Window's XP. I found I couldn't have anyone join a game I started unless the firewall was down. I also have the same problem with Roger Wilco for some reason. I have to take my FW down to let someone join my RW and then put it back up after they join, otherwise it won't work. Scary thought though. I'm playing online while someone could be checking my 'puter out! Argh! Anyone got some tips on this as well? Is there something I can do to keep from having my FW down while having someone join my game? Anyone?
