LOD terrain

what is it how do i do it .. i have gensurf .. 1.9 but i never seen it on there, is there any tutorials out there for this LOD TERRAIN thing you all speak of...?

The LOD terrain feature is part of MOHRad, not GenSurf. On your menu, third from the right is an option called "LOD Terrain."

First, create a brush, say 128x128. Give it an outdoor texture. Click on LOD Terrain and select "create form brush." That 128x128 brush just became a 512x512 LOD patch. Press "v" and it will be covered with cute little pink dots. Those are the vertices. Use those to manipulate the height of the terrain.

That is all I'm going to say because there are tutorials that cover this subject and I'm too tired to type out a full tutorial in this post.

be sure to take a bottle of painkillers, also, when using advanced terrain in your maps
and sacrifice a live chicken to the mapping gods so it does not create things that are not there...

I dont not actually recommend these things, however, there are moments I think these are the only ways to get some nice terrain generation going without 'issues' popping up.
