My Bridge is bic with a lot off detail ,and if I select it all and then applying a texture then i'm throwing out to the Desktop.

Ok here it is Pentium 4 2Ghz 512 DDram GF3 Ti 500 .
That must be fast enough I think , Pagefile is System Managed size .
( DELL 8200 Dimension ) Newest drivers for everything SP1 and all those other updates.

I have even got another download location for MOHAA Spearhead SDK, because I tought maybe there is a little bug in it ,and in the new download not ( I hoped ) ,but no the same problem.

it happened a lot to me, when i CSG subtracted (in early days now i don't use it :D) i got a gforce 2 mx440 32 mg :P and i solved itby increasing in the adavanced properties of winXP detonator's nVIDIA's drivers, the opengl pci memory aperture size to 32 mg (default is 5 8 or 16) try it out!
I love when a plan comes toghether!

You could texture your bridge with a text editor ;).

Also you could try to texture it in parts instead of all faces at once.
