Can't run my map

Can't run my map
I seem to be having some trouble. I made the box according to the tutorial, saved it as "first room.map", compiled it using MBuilder, and then when MOHAA started, the console was up and nothing happened. I typed "maplist" and my map wasn't listed. I looked in the main\maps directory and I didn't see any first room.bsp file, only .map and .bak files and Builder. Can someone help me run my map I made? Thanks.

More and more people seem to be having this kinda trouble with mbuilder. In theory, if your .map file is stored in main\maps then the .bsp should also be placed there after a compile. If not you might wanna check some other folders (maps\dm) in your main-directory and look for the .bsp file.
Also be sure to do the following: Go to Other options in mbuilder, and check the 'Copy bsp to mapdirectory', and just select 'Single player' instead of 'FFA'. If Mohaa is set to launch automatically after compile, then the map should be loaded, *but* then the sounds won't work. It's weird, mohaa doesn't seem to be able to start your map in FFA-mode. (at least I can't).
? Therefore my advice is to set it to copy to single player (which will place the bsp in main\maps) and uncheck 'launch mohaa...'. After the compile, copy your .bsp from main\maps to main\maps\dm and start mohaa. Anyway, this is how I use to do it.

well, if you want to test your map, if it is DM/TDM then just places the BSP, PRT and VIS files in your MOHAA/main/maps/dm directory, then open the game, go to multiplayer, start a new game, and select your map, it should be on the list, but if it isn't then something is stuffed up.
if it's an OBJ map then do the same thing but place the file in MOHAA/main/maps/obj/, and if it is a singleplayer map then just put it in your MOHAA/main/maps directory, and to load it by using the maplist command and selecting your map, or by typing "map <mapname>" in the console, where <mapname> is the name of the map you want to load.

The 'Game Directory' goes to the folder with the MOHAA exe in it. The "Compiler Directory' goes to the folder with MOH Radiant in it. The 'Map Source Directory' goes to the folder main\maps.
I downloaded a new copy of MBuilder from a different location in case I had gotten a bad file or something, but that didn't work. Am I supposed to be able to see a file called "first room.bsp"? I can't. Is there anything I could have done while making the map to make it not be able to create a .bsp file? I still don't know how to run a map from the console. I typed "map first run" and it said "USAGE: map <map>". Also, when I compile the map, it says "*****ERROR*****" on the line above "Q3Map Version 1.00". One last thing: in the console after I compile it and it starts MOHAA, it says "Localization Error: 'MOHAA Console' does not have a localization entry". You might be able to make something of it. Thanks for your help.

Personally I dont even save any of my work to my mohaa folders, I paste my bsps into mohaa when I am ready, maybe its the long way round but its works for me, I usually have about 50 various copies of my map, every time I open it up I save it out again just so's I can retrace my steps , it will invariably go wrong somewhere and you dont want to retrace your steps, you could lose a month of work ( this is true of any work you do on a computer, always back up your work ).

Thanks guys for all your help. I think I forgot to put a light in the map or I deleted it by accident
. You've all been a big help in this. I just deleted the map and built another one just like it and it worked. This is the first time I posted a message on any forum and I was amazed at how nice and how helpful you all were. If I ever need help again, I know where to turn. Thanks a million.
