A death-match version of Vemork factory!

Post by Bjarne BZR »

So... with very little effort I made a Death-match version of my Vemork factory.

Actually, its the same .bsp file as the objective version.
I just stole some scripting code from the exploder system ( exploder.scr ) and twisted it for my evil  purposes to remove all traces of the objectives from the map. Did not even need to recomplie it! :D

So check it out at tha site: All together now.... W W W . R J U K A N P R O J E C T . T K

Nooooooo! jv! How can you say that! :?:

( OK, Bjarne, stop this shouting... We'll have no trouble here. )

I think the game gets a nice strategic touch in Obj maps... It gets more complex than just extermination. I love winning a game alone against multiple enemies just because they failed to protect their objective in their selfish hunt for fraggs :D ( Granted, I doesent happen that often  )

I'm always killed first and don't want to wait 10 minutes before attempting to have some fun again

Is this turning into a what type of map you like better string?

In that case I gotta say that I prefer obj over dm. But I gotta qualify that by saying I like obj where there is infinite respawn better than either. The teamwork on an obj makes it SO much better. And I'll never forget the time I took on the entire opposition and held the objective single handed. Bragging rights.

What I aimed for with this map ( originally an obj ) was a new kind of map. Its not a big "new", but I feel that all the EA maps ( and maps in general ) are often limited in the way an objective can be approached. I tried to make Vemork factory more "open to suggestions":

The distiller bomb room can be accessed in 5 ways ( that I know of :) ).
The desk document room can be approached in 5-9 ways ( depening on how you count ).
The wall document room can be approached in about 5 ways.

And the 3 objectives ar not located in such a way that they must be acieved in a certain order. This all combines into an objective map that is very hard for the defenders to defend ( read: to be on the defending team does not nessesarily give an advantage, as it does in the EA maps).
