radiodisity lighting error

Post by coolmintyice »

1.

When the Mbuilder compiles the map the processing of radiodisity lighting was skipped because "there were no VIS data present". I had set the ambientlight to max 70 70 70, but the ambientlight is faint much like at dusk. I thought it would be something like highnoon. what must be done to rectify this.

2.
Can someone also clarify the terms VIS and DETAIL BRUSHES and how they are related. i have looked at various explainations for detail brushes, but it does not make logical sense.

thanks

 Ambientlight 70 70 70? Should be lower right? Try instead suncolor 70 70 70.

Most likely your map has a leak, otherwise you would have some vis data.

Read TheStorm's vis for dummies tutorial. Find the link in the compiling errors sticky. ;)

i didn't know that radiosity turns off when the map is leaked :P . That's what makes the low compile times
