wow i'm impressed!!!
although... (and there's always an although) u'll need 2 b careful not 2 use too many vertices on the model, it'll kill fps down in the game
but even so... WOW!!!
hope this helps, prob not cos it's all foreign 2 me :-/

I'd say it's got an average poly count: 1350. I hope it doesn't do anything to the fps.

Just to cut in, you don't need to find someone with 3ds, you need to find someone with Lightray3D with the Mohaa import/export tools. EA never supplied the community with tools to make weapons but Scorpio made it possible.
So find someone with LR3d and the i/e tools and you should be good to go.
PS. And you post a pic of the gun textured? I might be able to help if you want me to.
