2 pc's mapping,testing and compiling

Post by tuffstuff7 »

doh it just dawned on me i have 2 pc's lol
whch my main one is a horse the other is not bad except for the vid card its a ati aiw7000 ummmmm to make maps could'nt i use the better pc and then take the map and compile it and test on the other? if fps is ok or bearable there shouldn't this give a better look at howi t wil perform on others with lesser cards? and also like i said in my other post i have not been doing full compile (have ben using -fast VIS ,light) and now i see why some of you are talking hours and hours of compile time so that would free up the other ............and well is there another benifit to having 2 and mapping that anyone knows?

You shouldn't compile with VIS -fast! If you detail what can be detailled, it won't take long without -fast.

advantages of LAN mapping:
If you split your mapping project into pieces, you can work on one piece during compile of the other. This might get confusing, though...

You can walk in your map on one pc and make changes simultanously on the other, so you won't forget bugs.

You could invite a friend to test the gameplay in MP before a release
