New Bot AI!

Post by jv_map »

Something I've been playing with for a couple of days. Still has a whole load of bugs  but I thought I'd show you.

Nearly on top of the script there's some values Bjarne can modify .

Here's the link: link

Currently overwrites one original file (anim/aim.scr) because the original version doesn't allow moving and aiming simultaneously.

The guy in the map starts attacking you after 10 seconds. The attack is completely scripted, the regular game AI is not used.

no death animation

Post by tltrude »

I tried it and saw nothing special. The guy shoots at allied or axis and has no death animations. I don't see the point of printing the rounds left info either.

Look better ;)

This guy is way more dodgy than the original AI so much more difficult to hit. He also has more realistic aiming himself.

The rounds left prints are ofcourse just a debug option. The original game AI is so messed up it's not even possible to keep track of the rounds fired, so the regular AI reloading behaviour is just crap.

Glad you tried it though. :)

tltrude, I do belive your missing the point... its a demo of jv_map's bots new fighting behaviour.
Compare this guys fighting behaviour to that of a standard AI... then compare him to a standard above n00b level real player.

Its the classic Turing test :D

And I say the bot compares better to a live player than to the mobile refridgerators of the standard AI...
