Help! Enabling Cheats...

I never realized I was such a n00b

However, my hard drive was reformatted and afterwards I (logically

) reinstalled mohaa and the 1.11 patch.

It's working fine now except for one thing: I can't seem to enable cheats

I set 'cheats' to 1 in all cfg files I could find, and even ran the program with +set cheats 1 and +set developer 1.

When I start a map with the devmap command, cheats is still 1. However when I type a cheat like 'dog', the game says:
"You have to run a server with +set cheats 1 to enable this command" (2x)
(sounds like nananananana

)

If I then type 'cheats' again, it says:
'Cheats is "0" default: "1"'

What did I forget?

Never mind, the correct answer was:
"You forgot: +set thereisnomonkey 1"

I believe it refers to the EA staff....never understood why they put themselves down..lol

hhmmm..... for some reason I remember that line from some movie.....

and no - I'm not confusing it with 'there is no spoon'... thinking it was from 12 monkeys or some other future sci-fi flick.......

when i am enabling cheats i right-click on the mohaa shotcut on the start menu or desktop go to properties and at the end of target i put '+set developer +set ui_console 1 +set cheats 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1' it works for me, then u just type cheats in the game.

i created a second shortcut with this in the properties

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set developer 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1 +set cheats 1 +set ui_console 1 +devmap dm\(map name here)

with my bsp in my mohaa/main/maps/dm folder

so when working on a map i just click it and launch right into the map.

thats what mbuilder does last thing when compiling maps, say that line. did u get from there
