Impact craters

If I make a pit in a LOD brush that's got a grass texture, how do I put a burnt impact crater texture on that particular section?

Ctrl+Shift click on a 512 x 512 terrain patch and apply a cratered texture. You can't create smaller craters with the default textures I'm afraid.
