Got lightning, got rain, but no sound ???

Hello all

I've been working on my map and have put in weather effects ( lightning etc ) as well as rain.

However, when I fast compile the map, pk3 it and test it, everything is OK apart from the fact that you cant hear the thunder or rain effects. :cry:

Everything else works a treat, so I'm a bit stumped.

I have done a fresh re-install of mohaa, and the only other pk3 file in main is the pk3 for the new map, which is called user-SummerStorm.pk3

Weather effects are on in the options menu, high quality sound etc is on in the options as well. I'm using an Audigy2 sound card that works fine with everything else.

Hers the relevant part of my scr file:

level waittill prespawn
exec global/DMprecache.scr
level.script = maps/obj/SummerStorm.scr
exec global/weather.scr
exec global/ambient.scr
exec global/bomber.scr
exec global/door_locked.scr::lock
thread global/exploder.scr::main

level waittill spawn

I have tried running one of the maps that comes with MOHAA and the ambient/ background sounds can be heard.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions, cause im at the scratching my head stage

Implementing sounds is hell for mohaa, especially for mp maps :(

You can try my ubersound work-around method (see the tutorial on the tutorials page), but I'm afraid it won't work on a dedicated server :(

Try to use ambient sounds then. But thunder in SH works.
Live to map, not map to live.

Does the sound work if you type restart in the console? It may be that the looping sounds are loading too fast and are reset when the ambient sound is started.

Try this line after the ambient sound line:

exec global/weather.scr 3500 (0.333 0.333 0.359)

Those numbers are from m4l0, but it is commented out in that script. The ambient sound line should really be before prespawn, I think.
