still having problems with sky
when i try to put a sky all around my map it goes all blury when i look at it. even if 1mm of my screen catches it it locks the screen up and when u move the mouse the objects in my map blur in a sort of 'Windows solitaire way when u win wsolitaire' then i removed it for a plain grey sky and it did the same!!!!!!!!!
i cant progress on my map if i don't get this sorted, please help!

I will guarentee you that you have an overlapping/conflicting or non-aligned sky box brush on the part giving the mirror effect. Sometimes can be tough to find, but go over your sky box very carefully checking all the corners and top and bottom.
You'll eventually find the issue...but I'd bet it's a brush alignment causing it.

i wouldnt put r_clear in your script. On servers this command will be cheat-protected i guess(?). R_clear is a command (just like lock_pvs; don't know the command for mohaa) used by mappers to properly and manually VIS their map. It then replaces the HOM by an opaque color so the mapper can see which parts of the map are actually drawn from a certain point.
I think, as Slyk said, you'll have to check your map for leaks or overlaps. Use thick (+/- 64units) skybrushes and try not to enclose the whole map with sky. Just use it as a 'lit' or 'canopy'. But it sure is a strange effect you have. Whenever I have a leak in my map, I only see HOM-effects in the places where it leaks into the void.
(side view of map):
,...__...., < skybrush in the middle
|______| < ground
Now I would only see HOM-effect where the dots are. If nothing helps then delete the whole sky and make a new one, ya never know.

(to Solar:) yeah we'd better stay on the sky-topic, right? But okay, the proper command is r_lockpvs 1 (no need to use r_clear for this). If I remember correctly this stands for Potential Visibility Set. To test this, start a SP-mission and type r_lockpvs 1 in the console. Then use noclip (notarget, the whole bunch;) to see which parts of the SP-unit are being drawn when entering the level. Type r_lockpvs 0 to turn it off. Try moving to another point in the mission, and then type r_lockpvs 1 again to see which parts are being drawn after you've moved to another point in the level.
However in most small/medium MP maps it looks like the whole map is being drawn regardless of your position in the map. But it can be a good way to see if your vis-leafgroups are doing their job right. If you have more questions about this you'd better start a new thread.

yo, r_clear doesnt work!
and ive tried about 12 different sky brushes, including 2 hollowed, but the rest all seperate brushes. What i did was go to the XY Top view and draw a box all around my map, then either hollow it or make it thin and add 5 more. Was it too far away or something? Right the way around my map.
i'm confused..........
please help!!!!!!
