made an objective map, but cant play as an objective!

Post by Psycho »

Hey I just started mapping and its fun to do. :D
I think I'm getting the hang of it only I have a problem now.
I have made an objective map and I want to test it.
The bomb and all the other things are exactly the same as you describe in the tutorial. Also my .scr is the same. Now when i start a server I click on Objective Match. When I want to chosse a map, my map isn't there.
My .scr and .bsp are in a .pk3 file and they are all the same (name). I have comiled my map with MBuilder and I have choose a Obj map (in the Other OPtion screen). I have put my map in my main folder.

So it is kind of an mistery for me. I dont know what I am doing wrong.
Do I have to put my map in the main/maps/obj/ folder or something?

:?: PLEASE HELP! :?:

Yes your map should be in the maps/obj folder. If this is a spearhead map, it should also be prefixed 'obj_' (I think).

Don't use pk3 files until you plan to distribute your map ;)

if you are trying to set it up so your map in a pk3 will show up under objective maps, make sure that in your pk3, your bsp and scr are in the maps/obj folder. I think there is a tutorial on this site that talks about this.. somewhere.. maybe..

look at a pk3 with winzip for an example (change the file extention to .zip first). Just don't mess with anything you might want later, or at least make a copy first.

yes-if it's in spearhead, there should be an obj somewhere in the name
