Anybody know the detailed formation of minerals? Any pics on how minerals are formed? And how are minerals extracted?

Doing for a geog project. 8)

Minerals are formed when the water has other things in it Other then WATER. Such as salt, minerals blah blah blah. There are several differenet kind of minerals. Some are formed in caves. When the ceiling of the cave has water dripping down it. Over time the water droplets collect and form mineral spikes. Like in winter time when you have ice picks hanging from the top.
OR if a huge salt lakje dry's out then you will see deposits of minerals.
